A Visit That Left Us Inspired — Samvedana Foundation, Sangli
Some visits stay with you long after you've returned home. Our recent visit to the Shrut Satkar Library was exactly that — an experience that moved us deeply and reminded us of the quiet, powerful ways in which dedicated individuals can transform a community.
I am Poonam Shah, Vice President of Samvedana Foundation, Sangli. Last week, along with members of our foundation, I had the privilege of visiting the Shrut Satkar Library, and I can say with full sincerity — we left feeling truly inspired.
What we witnessed was not just a library. It was a labour of love.
The team at Shrut Satkar carefully restores old and damaged books through proper binding, breathes new life into them, and makes them accessible once again to readers who seek knowledge and wisdom. In a world where so many precious books silently fade away in cupboards and storerooms, this initiative does something extraordinary — it rescues those books, preserves their value, and ensures their journey continues.
This is not simply about books. It is about nurturing a love for reading. It is about making sure that the wisdom contained within these pages reaches the hands and hearts of those who truly need it — students, researchers, spiritual seekers, and curious minds of all ages.
We at Samvedana Foundation deeply appreciate the dedication, the care, and the vision behind this work. The efforts of the Shrut Satkar team are truly commendable — not just for what they do, but for why they do it. Every restored book is a gift. Every reader reached is a life touched.
Hats off to the entire Shrut Satkar family. Keep up this incredible work.
We look forward to a continued connection and hope to support and collaborate with this wonderful initiative in the days ahead.
