A Witness to Something Extraordinary — Samvedana Foundation, Sangli

There are organisations that talk about change, and then there are organisations that quietly, consistently, and wholeheartedly live it. Shrut Satkar is firmly in the second category.

I am Ronak Rajanikant Shah, President of Samvedana Foundation, Sangli. Last week, I had the opportunity to visit the Shrut Satkar office, and what I witnessed there left a lasting impression on me — one I feel compelled to share.

Walking into that space, I was greeted by something truly extraordinary: a collection of more than one lakh books, each one being systematically attended to by a dedicated team. The volunteers were repairing, covering, and preparing books — one by one — with a care and precision that spoke volumes about their commitment. Even the oldest and most worn volumes were being restored with patience and love, made ready once again to find their way into the hands of eager readers.

All of this is happening under the able guidance of Aadaraniya Sandipbhai, whose leadership has shaped Shrut Satkar into an organisation that has been serving the community for many years with unwavering dedication and prompt action.

What makes this work even more remarkable is its scale. Shrut Satkar's services are not limited to one city or one region — they are operating across India, successfully managing numerous libraries in various locations. Their reach is wide, and their impact is deep.

At its heart, this initiative is about something greater than books. It is about strengthening society through education and awareness. It is about ensuring that knowledge does not gather dust, but instead travels — from shelves to schools, from storerooms to study tables, from forgotten corners to curious minds.
